About us

The Army Public School Udhampur is one of the first five 10+2 co-educational school established under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society. It was started in July 1980 with a strength of 316 students from Nursery to class IX. The school was then known as Army High School, Udhampur. During the academic session 1981-82, class X was added in the academic session 1985-86, class XI was started.

In1985, the Carmel Convent School, which was run by the Bishop of Catholic Church, was taken over by the army and re-designated as Army School No-2, Udhampur. Subsequently, during 1986, for reasons of better education, administration and economy, Army School No-2 was merged and raised to the status of Army Public School Udhampur.

Presently the school is functioning in two wings .

  • (a) Senior Wing of the school (class IV to XII) has a strength of 2282 students
  • (b) Junior Wing (class I to III) with 909 students.

Our school believes in producing refined, civilized and cultured human beings who can live with dignity and honour. The school stands at par with the best schools in the country in terms of infrastructure, academic excellence, sports and discipline.
