APS UDHAMPUR CONDUCTS A 2-DAY CBSE WORKSHOP AND 6-DAYS IN-HOUSE TRAINING FOR
TEACHERS UNDER CPD
Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. They may forget what you said but they will not forget
how you made them feel.
As a part of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) which recommended 50 hours of CPD opportunities for
teachers and head teachers of the schools, APS Udhampur organized a 2-day CBSE workshop on ‘Promoting
Critical and Creative Thinking skills' which was concluded with a perspective to grow professionally at APS
UDHAMPUR. The aim of the workshop is to identify successful teaching practices that help students develop and
demonstrate their ability to think critically and creatively. This will help the students to come away with practical
application for fostering higher order thinking in both on-site and remote teaching environments.
The Resource persons for the workshop were Mrs. Puneet Kour, Principal APS Jammu Cantt and Dr. Kunal Anand,
Principal DPS Udhampur. Chairman APS Udhampur Brig. Satish Dahiya, SM presented the Inaugral
address in which he suggested the teachers to learn from the workshop to enhance a student’s critical
thinking skills which is particularly essential in a liberal education model so their thinking becomes
rational, enlightening their insight into the future, not only for a moment inside the classroom but also that
they become good citizens of their countries.
Principal APS Udhampur Mr. Sanjeev Kumar,in his closing speech, thanked the resource persons to
share their knowledge and expertise with the teachers which will help them to produce learners who
will contribute to their society, culture and civilization by thinking creatively and critically.
Moreover, In-house training of teachers was also conducted at APS Udhampur from 02-08
June,2023 for the professional upliftment of teachers where the domains of SQAA, Inclusive
education, Resource room functions, NCF-SE 2023, Social-Emotion learning and well-being &
Cyber Safety were covered. Teachers participated enthusiastically and also marked the
takeaways from the training itself.
