Udhampur, 15th August 2024 – Army Public School, Udhampur marked the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and a sense of patriotism. The day commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by the Principal APS Udhampur,Mr. Sanjeev Kumar followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The ceremony reflected the school's commitment to honour the nation’s hard-fought freedom and instilling the values of patriotism in the students.
The celebration continued with a vibrant poster-making competition based on the theme "78 Years of Independence." Students from various classes participated, showcasing their creativity and understanding of India's journey since independence. The posters displayed the students’ artistic talents, reflecting their pride in the country's rich history and achievements.
In alignment with the nationwide "Har Ghar Tiranga" initiative, APS Udhampur also organized a series of activities under this theme. Students and staff were encouraged to participate by displaying the national flag in their homes, symbolizing unity and collective pride in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal APS Udhampur, in his address, emphasized the importance of Independence Day as a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters. He urged the students to carry forward the values of unity, integrity, and selflessness that are the bedrock of the nation’s progress. "As we celebrate 78 years of independence, let us commit ourselves to becoming responsible citizens who contribute positively to the growth of our country. The future of India lies in your hands, and I encourage each one of you to dream big and work hard to make those dreams a reality," he said.
