INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY..

A man is not paid for having a head and hands, but for using them. Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Today is 1st of May, International Workers Day, the day of labour and solidarity. Dating back to the 1880s and born as a result of the worldwide struggle of workers for daily working hours, 1st of May is all the more important today as we come to well realise the importance of solidarity. We are living a historic moment when we have to better understand the value of labour, and the importance in our lives of each and every worker. Army Public School, Udhampur too celebrated INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY also known as MAY DAY to commemorate the struggles and sacrifices of the workers of the school. Children of APS Udhampur make “Thank you” cards which were presented to all the workers by Principal and Vice Principal APS Udhampur. A tea party was also organized for them wishing them and all their beloved ones health, safety and happiness. Principal APS Udhampur Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, in his address said that this celebration is a reminder of the important role played by the working class in our society. APS Udhampur wholeheartedly wished everyone a wonderful International Day of Labour to raise awareness of the rights of working people and to protect them from exploitation.
