NORTHERN COMMAND TOURNAMENTS are being organized every year to celebrate the legacy and principles of Sports with the aim of providing holistic development to every child as support and encouragement from both school and home would prompt the students to make a mark in sports. The Annual NORTHERN COMMAND CLUSTER LEVEL CRICKET TOURNAMENT was held this year also, on 10 th and 11 th October, 2023 and APS Udhampur won the competition again. Six spirited School Cricket teams contested for the Coveted trophy over a period of two days. Quarter finals was played between APS Nagrota and APS Udhampur which was won by APS Udhampur. Semi-finals was again won by APS Udhampur against APS Srinagar. The final match was held between APS UDHAMPUR and APS RAKHMUTHI. During the final match, the energy on the field was electrifying. The ground resounded with cheering and exuberant spectators. APS UDHAMPUR beated APS Rakhmuthi by 11 runs and won the match after a nail-biting finish. Man of the Match trophy went to Rhythm Raina. The management and staff APS Udhampur lauds the efforts of the young cricketers for their exceptional performance, motivating them to continue with their passion for the sport. Principal APS Udhampur Mr. Sanjeev Kumar congratulated the team and the Cricket coach Mr. Ankush Bandral for imbibing the spirit of Sportsmanship and fair play. He said that the reputed tournament gives young budding cricketers a prestigious platform to display their skills and so our students exhibited their cricketing skills beyond excellence and emerged as WINNERS. The playoff matches saw the teams play with perseverance as the spectators applauded each stroke motivating the young cricketers to put their best foot forward. The memories created during the tournament will be cherished by the students as we look forward to the event next year.
